The area is planned to minimise future transport needs and car dependency. Cycle traffic is the most important element in the area's transport system.
The network of foot- and cycle-pathsis designed in a way to provide a good alternative on shortdistances. Cycle-traffic in the area is always given the priority.. The bus system is attractive and well developed from the outset in order to attract many users and become the natural choice for the residents in the area. Significant investments are being made in vehicles powered by environmentally sensitive fuels.
Public transport vehicles will run on environmentally friendly fuels, with the transport fleet made up of electric and gas-powered and hybrid vehicles.
